For the past few years, a series of paintings of dandelions has poured out of me for more reasons than I can quite understand, and the reasons only multiply with time. In working on this evolving series, I feel a number of revelations have revealed themselves, more than one might imagine from what is deemed a weed in today's lawn-covered society. But first, how this near obsession with one of the world's most common weeds began: a visit to Monet's house in Giverny, France, on my way to Normandy to see my friends Ted and Pantelis.
